Abstract:
How the emergence of potential uncertainty is conceptualized and the technologies put into action to address it are examined by analyzing preparedness for pandemic influenza in Israel. Compared with preparedness technology and event technology, event technology is shown to recognize potential uncertainty and retains uncertainty through its action. Implications on other societies are presented.Notes:
